Bevel not printing right

Colin

New Member
I placed a bevel effect (in CorelDraw X5) to some lettering for a 30" x 14' banner and the bevel effect is not printing properly; it'a all jaggy and messed up - nothing like on screen.

Why?

Where is that command? Should I have converted the text with the bevel effect to Bitmap first?

Crap!

That's what I meant Colin by flattening it. Convert to bitmap at the highest resolution you think looks good at print size. That will keep the shadow in tact.

It's in the preferences for the document set up.
You need to set the resolution for the bitmap effects based on your final print size.
If it is too low it will print that way.
If the layout is very large and the effect dpi is set to 300 the program will bog down trying to render it out at that large size.
You can change the value and just regenerate the bevel effects before sending to print.
Make sure auto inflate bitmap effects is checked - it's supposed to take care of that but I'm not sure it does.
