Big Squeegee Laminating Problem... Sticky ARLON Backer Paper

We've had few problems using the Big Squeegee with Arlon laminate over the last year. Recently, the laminate has been hard to apply and has been leaving bubbles. We noticed that the backer paper on a new roll of Arlon laminate, instead of being smooth an waxy, is now a little sticky or grippy. This has to be the problem. We exchanged the roll (Fellers), but the new roll is the same. Has anyone else noticed this, and is there a different laminate someone can recommend?
