Break out edge 2 foil out of cartridge

Hello,

I found an egde2 magenta foil online and got it for a good price.

Before I break it out and add the edge fx converter kit to it.

IS there any special way I should break it out or a recommended way?

The main thing is not to cut the cartridge with a saw or any device that would create dust or you might contaminate the foil.

My recommendation would be to use a pair of pruning shears to cut a slot in the retainer at the end that the end caps come through (see attached photo). It should be large enough to pop the foil and the cores through and only needs to be done on one end of the cartridge.

Thanks Fred! I was going to use a saw glad I posted and asked. Took me like 5 minutes to break it out and change out the wheels on the side.


I'm going to do a test print with it layer today. If it works, I can get the process black and process yellow at 70% off and now I'll have 40 meters of cmyk

I have a foil that has broken along the 'top arm', I've superglued it but I'm guessing it will be best to remove the whole foil and drop in a renown cartridge?
