I have a broken HP Latex 335 spindle cap that I need a replacement for. I really don't want to have to purchase a whole new spindle just to get a replacement cap, but that's what my suppliers are telling me. Seriously? There's got to be a place where I can just get a part replacement, right? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You would think a replacement om part would be available somewhere, but Sounds like overall the easiest fix is to just buy the part in whole as you're informed. If it's not offered separately, there may be a reason for that.

Have that one part 3D printed and let us know how it works!

Huh? You can buy just the cap.... We replaced the caps on ours many times. The spindle and caps were $1500 cad... The hubs were $200 only. Unless they stopped selling them,.which I doubt... They break so easy. Below is the part # that was on our invoice

HP PT SERVICE 3" SPINDLE HUBS B4H70-67124

Actually NM, just realized this was for our 360.

If you google 335 spindle hub a lot of results for just the hub come up though... Including a 3d print file. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/hp-latex-315-335-spindle-hub

https://www.grimco.com/catalog/products/hp2spindlehubwithadaptor - Grimco has it....

https://wideimagesolutions.com/prod...rvice-parts-spindle-hub-w-adaptor-e2x76-67005 as does wideimage. However your supplier should be able to get it with the part # from hp.

Thanks so much for all your help. Years ago I purchased the whole spindle due to a broken hub, and remember it was quite spendy. The hubs seem to break easily, dang plastic, but it's great to know I can just buy a hub replacement. Geeze, my Grimco rep told me I had to purchase the whole spindle....now I've got proof they sell the hub only. Thanks for your detective work!

The spindle is the worst design. You have a 70 lb roll on it, then you drop it on a table and the plastic just breaks... We broke so many of them when we had that model.

If you had to buy a spindle everytime it'd be crazy expensive!

I'm surprised Grimco said that... Maybe they're just discontinued and Grimco has none in stock. The wideimage link says it's in stock, so if Grimco can't give you it... You're safe buying from them. eBay also has a couple dozen.

The correct part is - E2X76-67005 your Grimco rep should be able to get pricing and find it based on that.

you said it: "they break so easy"

i. would be skeptical that the 3d printer part would hold up well

buy a couple online and keep a pair of spares onthe shelf

Are these like the ones that were on the l25500? That's half the reason I made a cradle for rolls to sit in while loading material. Take a couple of 10" long 2x4s, split a core in half, screw the 2 halves to the 2x4s at the ends, jam a block to keep them from rolling apart, easy peasy.

I fixed one on a Seiko W64.
Glued it with super glue, then after it set up I got real sloppy with the super glue on both sides of the repair and put baking powder on the wet glue.
Lasted three years before upgrading that machine.
Think it cost me $3.50
