Business card layout

Let me know what you think.

Only things I was told is that they want a pack string, sunset, rugged look for the logoish part and a leatherish type background. Since I am waiting for the heater guys, I thought I would start on it.

Coming from a horse farm background, I would go just a little bit more of the darker leather look. Something that has had a lot of yrs of neatsfoot oil conditioning on it. Not necessarly the sun bleached leather look.

I originally had it darker but I didnt want it to be to dark that it competes with the pack string logo.

After I posted that, I was thinking the same thing, because it would have more of the rustic red in it. Unless you could make the pack string more of a dawn look to it whether then a dusk look. More like a "new day" feel about it, instead of the end of the day. I don't know if that makes any sense or not.

I'm not a pro in biz card layout, but my eyes had to work hard to scan & read the info. it's just all over the place. That background doesn't even look like pleather. I like the logo, What if you put "Guide & Outfitters on one line? Overall, it's ok.

a couple of things...
the background looks more like crackled paint than leather
info in each corner always look scattered to me

have a more leathery looking back ground on the left with the logo (flipping the riders to face right)
and maybe a light sandy ground with a hint of a horse shoe print (angled in the bottom right corner) for the opposite side with all the info

i'll try and do a quickie after i post this

I think it looks good. I would probably move the name and numbers a little further away from the edge though

Concept has potential for refinement, but as is, it's disjointed and too scattered about. Copy blocks are whats needed.

I was thinking the same thing but spell check says otherwise as well as the client. He says it is two words. I have no idea.

No website as of yet. He said next year there would be a website.

I was just going by the Google Suggestions when you type in the search bar.
If the customer says it's two words, his clients probably believe it is too.

I never got anything bigger then the thumbnail so I never saw the words, but muzzleloader has always been spelled one word as far as I know. I'm a crossbow(that I know for sure is one word) person myself, but I do know a few hunters that shoot muzzleloaders.

I meant to add this one up earlier. It reads better but still not done yet.
Havent had a chance to make any changes yet. Had to shut down for a while when the heater guys showed up.

gg the pack string has to face left. Not sure why, but that is what I was told. Some kind of superstition the mother has.

I will change the muzzle loader to muzzleloader and see what he says agin.

oops, didn't see your note about the pack facing left before doing this

i think i like the name below better, the placement of the word "ranch" didn't look quite right
and i never like statements like "bonded & insured" looking like part of the logo

i know people like to see their names REALLY BIG, but i think i can safely assume they don't do hunts for the visually impaired so i think having the name smaller and below ties in better with the graphic.

To make it more readable try separating the name from all the clutter and put it in a panel

I don't know if it's me or what, but for some reason when CSDD attaches the images I can't get beyond the thumbnail of them.

Have a finally hit the senile stage of my life?

Agreed about the "ranch"

Good point about the bonded & insured.

I like your layout, only thing is the right side of their card looks really close to their other business which is horse stables and horse riding. They dont want them to look alike at all. but you didnt know that so I wont hold it against you.

I like your idea for the Name. Clean and legible. I think I may do something like that if I can convince him on it. He likes to have everything arched over for his name. All 5 of their businesses have their name arched. I was just going with what I already knew he would like.

Are you using firefox. Someone else was having problems with images awhile back. There was something that had to be changed on firefox to allow some images to be seen.

didn't like the dived on mine and if the horses need to face the other way
so thought i'd just switch sides, give it an angle and let them face into the page

but actually, i like tikiboyz better... that way they still get arched text but the name is more legible.
