Can I stop in and talk?

Customer: Can I stop in and talk to you? Me: What do you need? C:I just need a sign, I need to tell you what I need on it. M: Can you tell me over the phone? C: No

OK so after waiting for this customer to stop in, who was late, it took him 20 minutes of some God awful story to get to a 12x18 NO PARKING SIGN!!!!

I work part time at Macy's as a sales associate, occasionally I'll take a call.

"Hi, do you have (insert item here, polo shirts, sweaters etc.) ?"

Me "yes"

Customer "Can you tell me what colors you have in (size)?"

Me, "We carry many colors in most sizes. Do you have a certain brand in mind?"

Customer "No, I just want to know what you have?"

Me with dumbfounded look of disbelief on my face "What price range sir/mam?"

Customer "what do you have on sale"

Me :frustrated:
"Ok give me a moment" (or in some cases) "I have a line can I call you back?"

Customer, "can I hold?"

....Damn, I really should stop being a people-pleaser LOL

When I was working retail that's the point I usually said "Sure, let me get a manager on the phone for you." and would then page whatever manager was working. For $8.50 an hour I didn't put up with a whole lot of stupid.
