Cannot modify EPS image

I downloaded an EPS vector image into Flexi and I want to clean it up a little. However I cannot get it into a modifiable image. HELP

Try to unmask (Menu "Arrange").

Older versions of Flexi will only handle older eps files. You'll have to get it resaved in a legacy format.

I believe "legacy" is an option in Illustrator which allows you to choose what version of Illustrator you choose to open it with... I guess not tying it into a particular version of illustrator. So if someone designs with Illustrator 6 and saves the file as a Legacy file then you can send it to someone with Illustrator 3 and they should encounter less problems that way haha at least that's how my tiny brain understands it
