I haven't been to a show in Atlantic City in about 4 years, yet, I'm being bombarded with e-mails from vendors thanking me for stopping by their booth this past weekend and want to extend some more specials to me. These people don't have a clue, huh ?? Some of them, I never did ANY business with.... ever. :omg:

I've gotten a couple, myself.

I wonder how bad the turnout was. There were no classes of any interest to me this year. Hopefully next year will be better. I'd like it if Francis Lansetti does a class next year... that I would like to attend.

ctrl+c; ctrl+v emails. I get them from time to time, even from vendors from China (after their tradeshows)

You go by a booth and your name and email get added to a Show list. That list usually stays the same from show to show. We went to SGIA last year in Vegas. I have got about 10 emails thanking me for coming by their booth this year.

ctrl+c; ctrl+v emails.
Copy and paste emails?? Can you explain?

I understand it's a mass email, but I guess I never knew you could actually ctrl+c; ctrl+v an email, causing it to duplicate in your inbox. Pointless.

Since purchasing my printer back in April, I’ve been bombarded with calls from places wanting to loan me money. I have to let the answering machine pick-up all my calls now, because there is no way I can stop what I’m doing every time the phone rings.

Ahhh, don't fret. You must be a lonely idle person for this to show up on your radar. Don't worry, son...... someone will talk to you, too.

...coming from a guy who's been on S101 only a year longer than myself and 25,000 more posts. Who's lonely?

Let's put it this way...... I/we have people working here, which takes a load off of me. It's been that way for years. It frees me up to quote, get estimates, prices and schedule people and jobs. It also allows me to respond to threads both good and bad and as you may well know, welcome people to this site. The number of posts I have vs. your count just indicates, you don't have much to contribute...... nothing to say or ample knowledge to participate. Other than what font is this or what is making this wavy line in my print threads..... what do you bring to the game ??

Since this thread was created by me, I think I'm allowed to expand on your comment. Other than improving your design chops and the occasional video game..... what is your point for being here ?? Regardless of the delivery..... do you help others ?? Do you solve any problems ?? Do you come here just to help yourself without giving back ??

I thought this was a place to give and take. You seem to be here for yourself only.

Keep harping away at me. I can take it, but I'll dish it right back atcha. :thumb: If you've been here this long, you should know, I don't quit. Keep asking me open-ended questions and I'll keep answering your funny little a$$.

I'm willing to bet I've helped more people here than you. I definitely haven't been a main factor in having anyone leave this site like you though. *cough Joe Diaz cough*

For tradeshows like the SGIA show we went to in Atlanta about a month ago...... I register using a generic email address that goes to our main generic inbox (my employees filter through that), I NEVER use my direct personal email for tradeshow badge registration. For the vendors I want to email me directly, I give them one of my business cards. Also I keep my badge flipped over - some of the booth staffers are basically paid by how many people they talk to and this is verified by how many badges they scan. Some will try to scan your badge even if you do not stop to talk to them. One of the things shows do nowadays to try to combat this is to give out badge lanyards than have two clips instead of a single clip on a swivel. This forces you to have your badge facing out or intentionally wear it backwards. I just clip both ends together and clip it in the middle and keep it facing backwards regardless. I get enough emails already...... I do the same with the assorted unsolicited places that call the shop as well. My employees are NOT allowed to give out my direct email address. If the caller might be of interest and wants to email us some info they are only to give the generic shop email or theirs, not mine.

I didn't leave. I'm just really busy right now, professionally and in my private life. This site tends to get negative sometimes, even when you are trying to be helpful, and because of that it's lower down on my list of things to do with my time. I didn't leave because of Gino, but I do view him as a source of a bunch of the negativity here.

I hadn't been to Atlantic City these past couple years. I always enjoyed it when I could go. I hope they find their footing. :thumb:

Hey backatcha Big Guy....... Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year.

It takes a special kinda person to just blow their wares out their petunia and see everyone as being negative and wrong all the time. You love to dish it out and backpedal with the best of them.

To put it in perspective.....I'm still here because of people like you. This place is so entertaining. Ya know, having talent and blabbering about it is very much different than having talent and just sitting back on it. It takes all kinds to make the world go round and yes, we need your constant hawking of wares, just like my constant pointing it out. Yes, it takes all kinds.

On an underground channel, just this morning, someone else made the same comment about you. Many of them thought you disappeared. I assured them you just are hibernating and will be back, when ya get all sleeped up. I can't believe your timing. It's remarkable, just like your talent.

keep up the good work and stick your head in more often. We miss you.........:peace!:
See peavy, I told ya someone would talk to you soon.................. :cool1:
