Need Help Canvas Boxing Ring Graphics - What type of material?

We have a client that would like a vinyl logo applied to his "canvas" 16'x 16' boxing ring. He says he was told by another signmaker that he could use vinyl to do this.

Being I have never tried that, I cautioned him to give me a minute to get the skinny on this, and see if that is in fact true.

Can you use vinyl on a canvas boxing ring mat, or is there a special type of product for this? It would need to be printed prior to installation.

Regulation boxing rings use cotton canvas duck material. I don't think you're going to get a vinyl logo to stick to that with any success, and I doubt the boxers will enjoy the footing.
