Capping station - checking for air leaks?

I suspect there may be air leaks on my capping station. what is the procedure for checking and adjusting. I don't want to replace the capping station as I do not feel it's actually broken just not sitting right.

Perhaps the rubber around the capping station is worn out, cracked or all gummed up or the print head it is "cattywampus", isn't fully flat (parallel) .

Take the side cover off and look at the print head over the platen.
