Carbon Fiber ?

Can anyone help me understand what may be going on here? This was installed about 6 months ago. Car is garaged to the best of my knowledge. CF is 1080 (I believe). Could this (Edge Whitening) be from the heat of the engine? Thanks:

I've never had this happen, but looks like wear from the top to me, maybe from the car cover rubbing on it. It appears he uses one since it is in the picture so I would guess it is stored outside with the cover and any breeze with a little dust could cause that I would think. Looks like it's starting to happen near all the edges.

Thanks, I thought the same but to the best of my understanding it is garaged w the cover.
