Carriage seperation

GUYS PLEASE HELP.i HAVE BEEN GETTING CARRIAGE SEPERATION ERRORS ON MY SP 540.I KNOW THIS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE BUT HERE IS A NEW QUESTION.CAN ONE "TIE" THE TWO CARRIAGES TOGETHER?

No. Clean the encoder scale with a dry cloth or alcohol.

You either have too much weight on the rollers or head strikes which are disconnecting your carriage due to undue stress.

Dirty encoder strip or eye. Clean, flip or replace the encoder strip.
Do NOT clean it with roland cleaning chemical or full strength alcohol.
Also, clean the track the carriages ride on very well.

Carriages have to come apart the "disconnect" is that it's reading a different location then where the other one says it's supposed to be located at.
