cast laminate

Solventinkjet

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
The official material sheet says it is and at 1.3mil thickness I don't think it would be possible to calendar that.

avery printable or avery anything? we use cast wrap all the time for autowraps and it's great. actually i like it better than 3m for cast wraps

Have you tried to remove any of those wraps yet?
Avery had some issues in the past where vinyl removal also included the vehicle paint from what a supplier has told us.
We have only ever wrapped with 180C or 1080 so haven't had any issues... yet.

That would be a paint defect if it were happening, not an issue with the vinyl. Gm and Chrysler have had problems in the past. Another manufacturer just had a huge recall because paint was failing where the windshields we're bonded. It was due to Axalta using a different resin in their paint, probably a supply chain issue.

so, this is why I was asking the professionals:

I've been using Arlon 3170. They are promoting it as CAST. I am assuming because of the thinness of the material that they are able to get away with calling it cast. But, after discussions on here and seeing a couple of failures in our shop, I am looking to change products.

removal of paint is the result of faulty paint, not the adhesive on the wrap.

I don't trust anything......... avery.
It reminds me of Steven Avery...he lived a few miles away. I don't trust anything Avery, I had vinyl failures years back and then with the murder...just don't trust anything Avery.

1360z is not only cast, it's optically clear. So it serves double duty as a laminate for perforated vinyl. If you want thicker they still make 1060z.

Had to google Steven Avery, not a good person. They are the same is that Avery vinyl is not consistent at being good.
Steven Avery seems to be consistently bad.
Have had bad experiences with Avery years ago and swore I would never use it again.

Yes, I got myself into a bit of trouble back when the Netflix documentary "Making a Murderer" came out. My sister and I watched it together and we are originally from a town about 45 minutes from here so we didn't know anything about the Avery's or the lady he killed.

Well, we got to talking about it on FB and how maybe Steven didn't do it, maybe it was the brother...YIKES...BIG mistake. We got completely screamed at - apparently she was friends with everyone in my current town and there's ZERO doubt he killed her and most people refused to watch the documentary. OOPS

He had to do it. The documentary was a bit one sided but that is what made it interesting and addicting
