Cast w/cal?

quick question, is it a big no no to use cast vinyl with cal laminate?
it will be on a 18"x18 digital print to go on a door, tomorrow!
i'm risking it?

will the laminate shrink faster?

Yes it is. You can use cast lam on cal vinyl typically without any problems but you may have problems with what you are doing.

I question why it's okay to go one way and not the other? You generally don't want to mix n match cast with calendared at all. They can shrink different amounts and at different rates.

One way causes it to curl up (edge curl/lifting), the other way causes it to want to curl down (against the substrate) which is not really a problem.

We rarely use cal laminate. If laminate is needed on a cal vinyl, then I'll just use the cast that is in the machine, usually 8518.

I find most applications call for either cal w/ no lam, or cast w/ cast lam.
