Change Blade height?

We are trying to cut a thick laminated print, but when our Sp-540v runs over it to make the cuts, the blade is so low (or that material so high) that it leaves little grooves as it skims to the next cut location. I know there is a head height adjustment but it seems this is only for the printer head. Is there another setting to raise up the cut blade? (Our blade is at the appropriate depth, the width of a credit card)

Dial the blade back into the holder. My blade is out 0.015" give or take a shade.(cutting 8mils) Only needs to get through the material and not drag the holder.
