I know there are a bunch of threads on this upgrade but I thought I would share mine.

I bought the LED strip lighting (SMD 300 3528) , transformer and clip leads on Amazon from LED Wholesalers for $32 shipped. I did consider the 5050 lights as well as the SMD 600 but I am glad I didn't overdo it. That would have been way too much light.

Three days later I can see so beautifully it hurts. The adhesive on the strip light is much stronger than I thought it would be. And I mounted the transformer to the bottom of a housing.

How did I live before without these?

For all those who are considering adding lights to their printer I highly suggest you do!

nice job! i would be worried the kelvin of the lighting would change the way the prints look coming o u t . hopefully, your LEDs are closer to office or outdoor lighting. otherwise, color matching SUCKS.

Thanks. The lights are rated 5500 Kelvin which is direct daylight but realistically I think they are closer to 5000k. Either way our shop lights are at 6000k So I can turn the printer ones off and color match if needed.
