Children, dust, flies and swine

Reading through a very old sign painting book called "Treatise on Carriage, Sign and Ornamental Painting", https://archive.org/stream/treatiseoncarri00campgoog#page/n37/mode/1up.

Came across this gem, "Children, dust, flies and swine are sore evils to the Painter, when permitted to approach his work"

I think I need to incorporate that into a shop policy sign.

I've got that same book. There are some great bits of advise in that. Plus the Author wrote this in a town about twenty miles from where I grew up. (DeRuyter, NY)

That's pretty cool, I haven't gotten too deep into it yet but it's interesting.

I gripe if I have to run out to the store and buy some paint or other material, these guys had to go buy the raw ingredients and make their own colors and varnishes.
