Question choice of ink for Epson R-3000 Dye or Pigment?

Dye based will fade quicker than pigment. I'm not sure what the benefits of the dye based ink are but pigment is going to have better longevity.

I assume to change over to Pigment ink the ink lines would have to be purged, what is the best ways
to go about it?
