chrome looking football helmets

Well, I started watching some bowls games during the last view days. Was watching one game (can't even remember who it was) but noticed the extremely shiny chrome looking helmets. I've noticed a few teams that wear them. My question is are they wrapped or come from the manufacturer like that or what?

They're almost too shiny in my opinion. Just wondering if anyone knew how they were done or what material is used.

I just noticed that none of the teams in the play-offs are wearing shiny helmets.

Looks like you can get the chrome look by hydro dipping.
