Clear films on Latex

We got a sample of the Optima Clear Film to try out. It's about a 14mil clear polyester film. They said it was latex printable. I downloaded the profile from Optima and loaded the material. It really struggles with it since it's clear. It's trying to read edges and ends and it keeps throwing back and error on the control panel of the printer, telling me CMAS can't be used to disable it in the RIP.

Any secrets for getting that all to work? Can I just put a piece of tape or white vinyl on the front edge and the right side to get it to read?

And second question, if I print it, will the optical system on a Summa pick the marks up off clear, or do I need to do something different on that too?

I printed on it by disabling the CMAS(I might not have those letters right, I'm typing this from memory), and it printed on it decent. The profile from Optima for Onyx has it using 24pass mode. Seems really high to me. Should I crank that down to the 10-12 pass area?

Any help/suggestions is appreciated!

You just need to manually put in the printer the roll size since the printer can't see it.

i print very good on polycarbonate film at 16pass on my L26500. Key is to limit your inks to where you get good results.
