clearcoat over vinyl

new guy here, just wondering what type of clear coat are others using over their vinyl. I use my airbrush and want to get into using it on vinyl. I don't want to use any type of urethane or lacquer. In addition to this I am wondering if any inks are on the market for use in airbrushing that will adhere to vinyl (inks sold in bulk like for inkjet printers). Sorry for the lengthy questions....

At the first sign company i worked for we also had an automotive painting company as the other half of the business. They sprayed many of the signs with whatever clear they happened to be spraying that day. FWIW, the signs were printed with eco-solvent ink and still look good today.

Most inks used for outdoor prints are solvent based, so they take a while to dry & outgass, so I am not sure you could spray them out of an airbrush w/o a lot of runs.

Matthews ADA clear, and their Satin line on many clear vinyls. I don't recommend their Low-VOC.

It's been 7 or 8 years, but before I got the roland printer if I needed a color fade on vinyl, I used Krylon Fusion.
Sprayed it in a cup and put it in the air brush.
Don't think I ever cleared any of it, and held up very well.

Have also used automotive touch up cans to match car colors.
