Yup, closed it up june 28th and reopened yesterday! A much needed break from here! A full 10 days!

And to come back all refreshed yesterday and ready to work, just to unlock the front doors to hear a gushing sound coming from the basement.... Over 30,000 gallons of water sprayed the ceiling of the basement from a waterline that went into the bathroom the just happened to decide to break while we were closed..... doesn't get much better then that... till we receive the next water bill :banghead:

yup, i hope it does!

My cat Tyson, whom i actually named after Mike Tyson because of the eye tattoo and the marking around the cats eye, well, i picked him up the other day and something for some reason spoked him and he decided to leap from my face and i got clawed on the bone right below the eyebrow and the upper check. Must have picked a good name for him cause i got a black eye from it.

I have a customer that says every time he goes on vacation something bad happens, or someone close to him dies, so he decided to stop going on vacations because it was always a stretch anyway.

My theory is that you need MORE vacations, so then that stuff doesn't happen every single time you go away, just sometimes when you go away!

Hope the water situation is the best case scenario for that situation!

I wasn't going to mention it. Not looking for sympathy, but funny you mention that about your friend and how things happen when you go out of town...

So, Last month around memorial day, my 87 year old grandfather went to get the newspaper at the end of the driveway. He was in his mobile scooter, tipped over and landed in the ditch next to the road. He lives right next a few hills and dangerous curve and post box has been taken out several times to the point where he made it so that it would spin if hit. My grandmother didn't know what happened, she wears hearing aids in both eyes and can't hear with those. Here a passerby saw my grandfather and scooter in the ditch, stopped, picked him up and assisted him into the scooter and left. We have no idea who the guy was. My grandfather broke his hip and had pins put in. We are jsut lucky he was found and that the ditch was dry.

So then the 4th of july is coming up.
My parents were going to go on a motorcycle vacation somewhere with another couple while we closed shop closed, far away (can't remember where, but good distance in states away) for 2 weeks. My mom had a hunch not to go, so canceled it and made arrangements to go to Lake Geneva for the weekend instead, which is closer, about a little over an hour away.

Fast forward to the day after we closed shop, saturday 29th.

Get a call my grandfather fell at home getting up from the kitchen table with his walker. My parents went up to the house and helped him up because my grandmother couldn't lift him. Black eye also and bruised. Ambulance got him and went to the hospital. Nothing broken. Low heart beat and they put like a shocker thingy in to get it up.

Get another call around 3.30am. Heart beat was now 30 and needed a pacemaker put in immediately.

It's weird how things happen. I could only imagine if my parents were far away when this all happened. Lucky i guess.

BTW, my gpa is still in the hospital and in the TCC unit for the next 17 days. He still not 100% and probably will never be again, but we are luckily to have him still.
I really wished i would have gotten a picture of us both with black eyes:smile:

Again, not looking for sympathy. Just figured i'd post in response to "how stuff always happens on vacation"

Hey, but I see in your signature you're 6+ months without a cigarette! Good job, I just passed 9 months the other day. Its an unbelievably good feeling to know you are free of that crap. :)

SO IT DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER!

Rain poured down this morning... stopped at my grandmothers, her basement is completely flooded with about 5 inches of water. She has carpet and it's finished so everything is ruined.

Then I come to work and the basement is re-flooded! Sump pump quit working! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
