Okay, Jesus just called and said he is having second thoughts about falsifying the permit request. He asked me why I had said to him about having misgivings about the whole deal in my e-mail from yesterday morning. I told him I did not want to commit a crime and I knew he was going to when he asked me to omit the measurements. He admitted he was going to do this, but thought about this overnight and said, he was only doing it because the landlord told him to lie and they wouldn't come out and measure. I told him, I know they will. I also told him, I will be free of this as long as I have a permit to see in black & white. After that, he will be liable. He said, he was told he could use all of these existing signs. Well, get permission in writing next time... you're a lawyer.... you know the system.

Use the correct measurements, go in yourself and see the codes office face to face. Take time out of your busy day and just do it. Do the right thing. They will work with you if you don't go in guns ablazin'. He agreed and said he will do it this way.


Well, the Police Chief just called me and said, we were/are doing the right thing, by coming in personally. He's sure the codes lady will work with us. In fact, he said he'd put a good word in for the guy.

Anyway, if I'm told what to do by the authorities and someone is not willing to work with me or at least take advice.... I go with the law and cut my losses.
