I'm building my own, VERY INEXPENSIVE, CNC router table. Check out the DIY project, "Mostly Printed CNC" at v1engineering.com. There are a couple of types.
You can purchase everything OR, if you have a 3D printer, you can print some of it yourself to reduce the cost.
I tried many combinations of bits and settings but could never get a good result when routing. I think that knife cutting would be the way to go with a router capable of that or a flat bed cutter like a Zund, etc.
