Color management

Looking for color management suggestions to set up our printers.
We have flexi 10 and an i1. We can profile our printers, but am wondering what is best for final out put rgb or cmyk. I am thinking rgb because I can profile the monitors which are rgb then the same all the way to output.
Is this correct?

No. A monitor and a printer will still have differences in the gamut.
