Has anyone heard of... or used Colorific inks in their Rolands or other types of Eco Solvent printers ??

I was told about it just the other day and actually told it is the same company who makes the ink and private labels it for Roland who then puts their label over top. Evidently, Roland doesn't make all of their own inks any longer, if at all.... according to this person I spoke to.

I'm not a true believer in 3rd party inks, but if this is true about it being Roland's same stuff, who knows ??

So, if anyone has any experience with these inks, can you talk about it ??

With a whiz bang name like Colorific it has to be good.:Big Laugh I use OEM after my 3rd party ink debacle. To the people that claim their ink "is just like" blah blah blah.. I tell them prove it. Warranty my heads in plain language and in writing. Guess what? No takers.

Everything with these guys is sunshine lollipops and rainbows when the money is coming to them. You have one issue and you are talked down to and made out to be the idiot that caused the failure. When in reality it is very simple and scientific to diagnose. Lets see with OEM inks I had no trouble, ever. 2 months after switching to (insert name) the printer quit printing. Hmm what is the ONLY thing that got changed? 3 guesses, first 2 don't count.

The guy I used to buy my inks from stopped returning calls and emails after the 3rd ink induced failure. Spent a sh*tload of cash resurrecting the printer and going back to OEM. No issues since and its been over two years. His inks clogged 3 times in 6 months.

Yeah, I know, but this guy was telling me, this company really does make the Roland inks, which I questioned by saying.... well, if they make it for Roland, then why are they making it for the other manufacturers ?? They don't all use the same ink, do they ??

I've never been a believer in 3rd party inks, but this one sorta made me question it a little. I used to buy my Roland inks from a Merchant Member here, but they went stoopid on me and the other company I was buying from just decided they won't accept checks from us, although they have for a year now. Not one red cent was ever late, let alone questioned. I don't get it ?? Unless you buy with a credit card, they don't want to do business with you. Go figure.............

Are these distributors running that close, that they can't give you credit for a warehouse full of crap ?? These people have literally 10's of 1,000's of dollars of inventory and they can't take a check a week later ?? They get terms, so why don't we ??

Not to be confused with a rant, this is still a question about 'Colorific' or a good place to buy OEM Roland Eco-Solve Max inks.

I had a similar salesman come in and try to sell me the same BS line. He claimed that they manufactured ink for "companies like Roland". Eventually when pressed he admitted that they do not in fact work for Roland.

Regardless of his claim, there is no way that it's legit. While it does seems likely that Roland subcontracts out the ink manufacture, if that same company went around trying to sell direct and thereby cut out Roland, Roland would sue the ever living snot out of them.

I can say with a high degree of confidence that Colorific does not manufacture Roland OEM ink. Nor do they make OEM ink for any other manufacturer that I know of.

I have enough problems without switching inks.

A couple of salesmen have tried to get me to switch. One of my main suppliers does not even carry Roland OEM ink.

It would take me days to match proofs I created with OEM inks.

As for the "no reprofiling necessary" claim. I just don't believe it.
