Condition setting: Acceleration

Searching for the life of me in the forum, online, in the graphtec manual.
From the manual
"How to Improve weeding ability"
-Set the SPEED and ACCELERATION values as low as possible.

I understand Speed, Force, Offset, but what exactly is acceleration changing in the machine?

My guess is that if you cut a 12" line, the acceleration from the time the blade drops to the time it lifts.
So with small cuts you don't want a high acceleration as you want a consistent cut speed through the cut?

Mainly looking for some re-assurance that I'm understanding it correctly.

Good explanation, thank you.

So 1 would mean slow acceleartion - therefore on small cuts it will be more uniform and not "zip" through the cut as fast.

On larger simpler objects or high volume, I can probably afford to run at 3-5 just to keep things going faster.

Agree?
