Contour cutting on perf

Need to contour cut the digitally printed perfed material. This would be the first time cutting the printed perf material.
Using HP L25500 printer and Graphtec FC8600-130 cutter (Mac with Cutting Master 3 and Illustrator)

Would you be kind and share a few tips :)
I'm worried about not being able to register the marks on the perfed material.

Thank you

Sorry, I can't help and never tried it. But I will follow this thread if there is an answer.

We've done it on our Roland with registration marks. It was pretty straightforward in our case, but the one tip I'd give you is to do it after hours if you have a lot to do. The sound of cutting perf is very unpleasant.

Are you going to have a laminate on the perf? Regardless, a slow cut is necessary and you're going to have to do test cuts to get the pressure correct.
Also, there will not be enough solid vinyl to get a good enough registration mark for Cutting Master. YOu will have to put white vinyl or you may be able to get away with frosted tape, and manually redraw your registration corners so CM and actually see the.
The last time I put a laminated cut a perf image on a vehicle window it lasted a year before the edges started failing in spots. I would suggest that you laminate over the cut perf with an offset to trap the edge once applied.

Thanks.
It will be unlaminated. It is actually for glasses. My kid wants to do something for the kids from his class so I bought a bunch of plastic "cool" glasses that I will print the perf for.

We do it all the time with our machines. Back with our L25500 and GCC Jaguar IV and now our Latex 360 and Summa S2-160T, it works exactly the same for us as solid vinyl.

The only thing is you have to test your pressure as it can cut through the backing if you use normal pressures. We reduce ours about 5-10%

+1.

On rare occasion, I've had to stick a piece of white vinyl over the registration marks and draw my own.

Rarely though.

After the first pass I put little bits of white vinyl over the marks and let it print the other passes. Same on the end of the print. Works perfect.
