converting bulbs to led

I am close to fed up with my bulbs going out. Is it worth the effort to switch to led? What kind of issues might I encounter? It is a pretty standard sign face with a light box attached to the side of a building. It has 2 8' lighting balasts with 4 bulbs in each balast currently. They need to be replaced at least once a year, and with the way the led technology is coming along, i thought it may be a good time to consider converting. Any help would be appreciated.

What is needing replaced at least once a year? Ballasts, lamps?

Is this sign face lit 24hrs a day? Was that system checked?

I have a 8' sign at my shop that I leave on 24/7 and it have ran for 4 years. I think turning them on and off wears them out...from what I hear.

LED are not that bad to install, on double sided signs you will need a hanger post.

Have you checked the load of the transformer or are you just replacing with that you removed?

Could be that the transformer is the incorrect size/rating!
