when trying to smug or smear or blend or etc. I want to choose a brush setting such as Blend a little or blend alot or etc. The problem is that they are not their, only "custom blend" or "custom smear"

So how do I get it back? I even tried to uninstall and reinstall.

did you try holding f8 and starting CorelPHOTO PAINT resets everything (including menus) to defaults...
perhaps you have the wrong tool, look for the q tip in the brush roll out - and then the thumb to smudge!

I was having the exact same problem, using 12. Very frustrating.
I went ahead and upgraded to X3 and have never gone back to 12......problem solved. Nice tip on the F8 reset, know doubt I'll need that sometime in the future.
