Corel Upgrade

Good morning,
Having received an email that the new version of Corel is ready I went to download and install it and it will not let me do it without uninstalling my previous version. Since I have been on the subscription since it was required I have been using version 2024, which shows there are no upgrades available. Has anyone else installed this yet?

Upgraded to 2025 right next to my old version...
Havent used it much yet but I have them both running right now while I setup hotkeys on new one...
I have the subscription...not sure what you are seeing but are you sure it wasnt saying you had to unregister the old one?
When I got my new computer I had to go into my corel account and unregister it from my old computer as I only have I think 3 installs I can use...

No, it will not install without removing the previous version first. We have 2 subscriptions and they both say the same thing. I guess I'll go ahead and install one of them and see what happens. I just don't understand why they can't just upgrade like Adobe and Affinity. Thanks for the info.

Hmmm, thats weird I have no problem installing and running both side by side...

I found the last update of 24 fixed all the stability/speed problems I had with it so I am not rushing over to 25 but they are both installed and working right next to each other...
also have x18 installed for a couple old photopaint plugins that didnt work with 24

I was able to use the last 2 versions that way as well, but this time it forced me to uninstall, and after having done that it now it says I have an invalid serial number. Even my subscription shows that this is the coreect serial number. Now I am trying to get help from Corel Support as I currently have nothing installed (at least on this computer)

If I had to uninstall I would have stayed with 24 as it finally fixed almost all speed/stability problems I had and works good... Didn't even look at the new features 25 supposedly has...i clicked the download link very gingerly as I didn't want anything to mess with my current setup, would have balked if I had to uninstall 24.

Arial Sucks.
I'm not in any hurry to install the new version considering all the hassles I see people having with it, based on posts at the CorelDRAW user forums.

Are there any actual new features or improvements included with this "upgrade?" Corel's web site is not very clear on this at all. I saw a mention of a "print to PDF" feature. That's not exactly blowing any wind in my sails considering what the annual subscription costs: two apps for $269. I may have to switch our remaining subscription licenses to the buy once option and be done with it for a few years.

The buy once is a relatively new feature...did it return with this 2025 version? It was only a few years back they eliminated it and forced us all to subscribe. I used to just buy when I saw that something I wanted was being included, or for better .ai or .pdf import capability.

The biggest new "feature" is CorelDRAW Web . This is what they say it is:
Expand your artistic universe with CorelDRAW Web, a powerful browser-based version of CorelDRAW for flexible creativity. Available exclusively to subscribers, CorelDRAW Web offers the full CorelDRAW experience in the cloud, enabling you to design without limitations, beyond the desktop.

I just took that feature for a test drive. It opens in a browser, and runs CorelDRAW from the web. As you might imagine, this makes things painfully slow. It appears that, like in a game, features download as you use them. It's the same UI, largely. It uses its own set of fonts, some of which are familiar, but almost all of which have unfamiliar names. Not sure if you can use fonts from your own computer or not. Didn't play with it long enough. Some keyboard shortcuts I use, like CTRL-PageDown to move an object back, don't work; that one makes the whole browser move behind other windows. Once you finish a layout you save it to a cloud (and a copy is also saved to your browsers Downloads folder).

Personally I cannot see the use case for this, since once I leave the shop I don't design anything or do anything that has to do with creating layouts. Maybe someone would need to ability in to use CorelDRAW on a computer that they don't install it on, but not in my sign shop.

probably because some portion of it has been done in a different "developer kit" or whatever.

see if they have a support document for a clean install.

Well they had me delete the download and do it again. This time it worked fine, but I no longer have the previous versions on this computer. Incidentally, we have 2 complete installs of Corel (4 computers) and the email for the upgrade on the other install said the same thing. In red letters it said you must uninstall the previous version, which we didn't do untill we resolved this situation. I am going to delete that download and try it again to see if we get the same warning. Very strange.
