Covering Vehicle Windows with vinyl...

Quick question. I think I remember reading years ago that you should limit the amount of vinyl coverage on a window. I remember someone saying with temperature changes, the vinyl could shrink enough to shatter the glass.

Is this the case? I have a white passenger van I'm going to be lettering. We're wondering about covering the windows with white vinyl to make it look more cargo-like.

Would really like to avoid perforated, but if that's the only option, it'll have to do.

Same here. I think it's more of an issue with old storefront windows and dark colors.

I installed some second surface graphics that had a light background and big dark text on old storefront windows. The large black text with the light background created some hot spots with the summer sun and one window cracked. The window could have been compromised before the graphics were installed?
