Creases/Marks in Laminate

Hi all, Does anybody know how to avoid these small but annoying marks in the laminate the first time I use it each day? Obviously it is from ripples in the backing paper but it looks terrible on the print and to use scrap to get past that point each day wastes a lot of material. It only happens with certain materials. Any help appreciated.

-What type and size of laminator?

-What and when is this happening?

It's a 1600mm (60") laminator. It mainly happens when I use General Formulations Concept Gloss. So when the exposed laminate sits for any more than a few hours the backing paper has ripples going back towards the roll, then the marks around these ripples show after that part of the laminate is applied to the print.

The first photo is the original, the left side of it is the start of the print, so after ten or so inches that line appears all the way across it and around the ripples which you can see in the backing paper in the other photos.

I can tell there is a ton of tension on that roll. Both the roll and webbed up is tight tight tight which translates straight to the roller. At some point in the webbing, you should probably let the film relax, or unwind the your lam a bit before webbing it up on your machine. Looks to be product specific, as at times my oraguard gets that tight, but I never let it travel through to the webbing and rollers.

Looks like a lot of tension and also a LOT of humidity in that room.

I notice a lot of humidity with how the backing is rippling like that.

I never liked General Formulations laminate...Different from regular laminate in that it silvers way too much and seems to be more like a clear vinyl than laminate...and yes there are differences.
