Creating oulines in X4

Hi, I would like to know how to create an outline around an object, or more frequently, group of objects. I'm used to doing this in Gerber Omega because I mostly use it for creating cutlines around a group of objects that I want to plot. I tried using the Tools --- Weld function as I thought it would work, but even after grouping the objects then welding them, it did not create the desired effect.

To make sure I'm being clear here: for example, Create 3 shapes, slightly overlapping each other. Now I would want a single line outside this group of objects to be used as a cutline. Hope this makes sense, any tips?

Have not upgraded to X-4 but in X-3 if you make your shapes overlapping like you stated, then use your pick tool to choose all the shapes and in the menu on the top of X-3 there is a row of squares with the one all the way to the right is one with a Dark black outline that will create a new object around the ones you chose.

Thanks a bunch rcook99!!!
I have no idea why I never noticed that before, we upgraded from CorelDraw 9 which doesn't have that feature, and I haven't had that much time to play with X4.

Problem solved, so much for manually node editing my outline I already created by hand!!

NP, glad to help!

I just finished downloading the trial of X-4 to try out as I hear they put centerline tracing in which is supposed to work very very well.

I have another quick question. I found the tool on my other computer, but now I see don't see that icon on this computer (with X4). I looked in the toolbars and menus, but I don't see where I can get it. Where do I look?

I am not sure what you are looking for but if you go to windows on the top menu and then down to TOOLBARS OR DOCKERS and just check the one you want. Hope it helps, if not clarify what you are looking for and I will see if I can help you.

Thanks for the reply, I actually found the icon a bit later. In order to outline selected objects, the objects must be ungrouped. I had them grouped which was why it didn't appear.
