Cropmark setting SC-500

The contour cutting and printing is out of sink from one another, so I try to do an Auto Cropmark adjustment first, however I do get an Error message of " Lost Cropmark" after going through all the steps. The manual recommended to do this first before do the Print/Cut Adjustment.. I am not sure what I am doing wrong,, can anyone shine some light on this?
