I have done a few crown vic's lettering with the door protector molding. The edges are starting to lift on them. I know it's not my fault cause they ship these vehicles with the rear trim already applied to the door and it's lifting on those also as well as the front ones that i put on when i did the original lettering job.
So, has anyone ran into this? Is there a fix?
This car got side swiped and they ordered a new rear piece in that i have to redo the back door. But on all of these trim pieces, the edges have started lifting up.
The back of these things, as you can see in the photo, do not have the foam tape running end to end. The ends actually have a little pocket.
I should have taken the photo before i did this, but i put clear silicone on this new one in the pocket to fill it and now waiting on it to dry before i apply it. THought that it might help with the lifting.
The tape also i believe is 3M cause of the red, but don't know for sure. It's not really that thick, so i'm thinking about applying another layer.
Anyway, any feedback on these things. I clean the door well with Isoproponal 99% before applying. Any other recommendations. I might as well fix the others on the vehicle while it's here.
Thanks.
