CS6 Legacy version Photoshop

I am getting info together as I have to buy a new computer as I'm still using XP. I have Photoshop 5, yep that's 5 not CS5 and it does all I need it to do. I not sure if it will run on windows 7. if it does, I'm good to go. if not I have to buy a new version f Photoshop. I looked into CS6 Legacy as it seems to be that last version that comes on a disk and not cloud based. I have no need at all for the latest, greatest updates for Photoshop so first question is will my old, very old Photoshop work on windows 7? if not is CS6 legacy a good version to go for if I could care less about updates?

Free CS2 download

Not sure as to whether your Photoshop 5 will run on Windows 7 but you can get a
free copy of CS2 from Adobe.
They released it last year and there are some useful features that 5 doesn't have.

Photoshop 5 was released in May 1998, and will NOT run under Windows 7x64.

I would upgrade to the latest CS6 disk version, as this most likely will be the last ever now that Adobe is on the cloud.

However, if you don't want to purchase and newer version, here are some links on how you can make (work-around) Photoshop 5 work.
