cuttable surface for work tables

Does anybody have any recommendations for a work table surfacer? An industrial polyurethane for example? Something brushable, something that can hold up to cutting. Any input appreciated, thanks.

Cutting mat.... glass is great for cutting on too but it makes the table useless for working on anything else. Dont want tools or anything hard and heavy anywhere near a glass table.
