cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

Using a Roland VP-300, 3M-180, Oracal 290 lam. Cut contour blade seems to be skidding, not cutting in areas. Is the angle of the blade or materials? I seems to be worse lately as I never really have had this issue befor. Sometimes a tight point would skip but not a nice curve or a straight line which it's doing now.

sounds like a dull blade or your holder isn't tightened enough and is pushing itself out of the carriage.

Corner or tip of blade may be missing. It happened to me recently.

1) I'm using a new Roland CAMM_1 blade right out of the box, 2) It is the correct blade (45 degree, 25 offset, should I try 60 degree?), The holder, it is tight in the bracket and there doesn't appear to be any play in the bearing of the holder. Very very slight if any. I flipped the cut strip and will purchase a new one but I've had this issue, though not as bad, since new. It goes to a point of a letter but doesn't quite cut, then it will skip or jump.

Any cuts/nicks/bumps in the cutting strip? Does the vinyl have bubbles or wrinkles in it? Does the blade move freely and easily in the blade holder without any wobble? Have you tried adjusting the speed?

no cuts or nicks in strip but again I will be ordering a new one, no bubbles, or wrinkles, do you usually have them? I don't... Blade is free, and easy, no wobble. After it turns a corner it looks like a tire tread as it drags along. It does cut through but it also makes the "track" on the vinyl. Like the laminate it sticky or something though it's the same stuff we've been using for a while with no issue.

For laminated prints, we usually use a 60 degree blade - works way better for us.

Yes; try a 60 degree blade. I think that'll solve the issue.

tried it today, better but it is still skipping/dragging like the blade isn't turning and hanging up at points, or the tips of letters.
