Cutting Magnets on versacamm

Can you cut magnets with a versacamm? I would think it would dull the blade rather quickly. Has anyone done this? Do you need a special blade? I put magnetic material through my camm 1 and used one of my old blades. I put the pressure to 300 and it did cut through. Is this safe? I seem to be getting alot of magnetic jobs that are small circles different shapes. I would like to keep it in house.

The reason i ask this question is... I did not think you can cut magnetic material with the versacamm, so I sent the job out. When i called to see where my order was (huge mess), they told me they had a problem cutting the material with there versacamm. So i said to myself, why the heck did i send it out when i could of ran it through my versacamm. This company was cutting on the versa, so i was wondering how many other do it. When i tested it out for myself, it worked. I used my dull blade though. I wasnt going to mess up my new blade.

Cutting magnet is no big deal. Get yourself a 60 degree blade and you should have no problem figuring out the pressure. Just always remember that you will not cut all of the way through the mag. Weeding is required. If the excess material doesn't weed easily, change your pressure. I cut mag daily and it is not hard on my plotter in any respects.

This is the EXACT solution. If you call any tech of Rolands they will tell you the same thing. This machine is more then capable of cutting into magnetic material as long as you have a newer 60 degree blade. If you have laminate on the magnetic material as well it may make it a bit harder, but not impossible. Good luck!

I have not attempted it yet but if you cut mag with an xacto knife for example you dont have to cut all the way through it. you just score it and bend it and it will break apart easily.

what mil mag do you use to cut in your machine?
I heard that you can run 30 mil but the fellers catalog says otherwise. I was thinking it would be good to drop down to a thinner mag material...?
