Cutting mats - 1 or 2-sided?

Don't know where this belongs in the forums...

Silly question, really, but can you flip over your cutting mat and use the other side or are they designed for single-sided use?

We do

We do also. But depending on how hard you press down, like some of the people in our shop, you can go to far. After you flip it to the new side and you make cuts on the new side, eventually the cuts start to touch from both sides and the mat begins to break apart.

We do but it's not nearly as nice. The back side is usually glossy which means app tape, vinyl, etc agressivley sticks and grabs at it.
