cutting shapes out of a bitmap?

Okay this seems like it should be a simple thing to do ... but how on earth can I cut a heart shape out of a bitmap using CorelDRAW 11 ... I also have Corel PHOTO-PAINT 11 if I need to use that?

Since you're fixated on 'cutting out' this will be counter-intuitive. Make a heart the right size. Select your bitmap. Then do Effects->Power Clip>Place Inside Container. Then select the heart. You don't 'cut it out' so much as you 'put it inside'.

version X3 and X4 allow you to trim & intersect bitmaps gives a lil more freedom to how you play with rasters
