Deburring tool a few of us purchased from Amazon this week.

So I just got this tool from Amazon that several of us ordered the other day...and I basically have zero clue how this thing works. The picture was baffling to me, but I thought I'd be able to figure it out once it got here. Someone give me some pointers.

Ours should be coming in any day now. If you aren't helped out today, I'll let you know what we find out as soon as we receive it.

From the pics it looked like you would hang an edge of the substrate off the edge of the table, then hold the tool horizontally pulling it along the edges and that both sides of the sheet would get de-burred at the same time. I have one sitting in my cart but wanted to add something to it for the free shipping. Yes, I am that cheap. Looks like it would be awesome though.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuup. It looks like I just need to adjust some stuff, but I'd have never guessed those things were that sharp. Good deal. Thanks!

I assume that's what I got. It's just like the one in the video. I don't have the box anymore and it came with zero paperwork.

i have always used the swivel head type.. have had them for years... place your sheet just
over the edge of your bench and draw the tool towards you... very quick..
flip the sheet over and clean the other side... blades last a long time....

Me too. I prefer that tool as it can deburr everything. Here's a link to show the various types and how they are used. Best tools ever.

After reading the first thread, I ordered one too and just received it yesterday. I only tried it so I haven't given it a fair chance yet but so far I'm not sold on it, so far I much prefer a good old file for deburring sign substrates. It seems like something you just need to practice with to get the right consistent result, it's not quite as easy as the videos make it look. It doesn't seem very good for softer material either like PVC, which it just digs into if you press a little or it just chatters on the edge and makes a bunch of cuts on the edge if you use it too lightly.

*blade, been around for a long time... yes it will do PVC, 1 edge at a time....

* *ToolKing.com * * * *$17.00 *comes with 3 blades *will last a long, long *time

You are correct, this is not a tool for using on PVC and there is no need to debur PVC....I just tried it anyway to see what would happen. I do use a file on the edge of PVC very often but not for the purpose of deburring exactly.
