SO in my yard....or feild for you city people I have these troffs I put corn out for the deer to eat. Tonight there was this deer eating and I was looking at through my scope and his head was all bloody from losing his antlers (that time of year) so I though poor guy... then he started running off and there was this other deer charging him and they rammed just like ...well rams. Crazy thing is the one deer HAD antlers but when they rammed the antlers flew off up in the air, and he just stood there with his tongue hanging out for at least 5 minutes..... CRAZY. So I guess it hurts to lose the antlers, so I might put some beer out in the corn I feed them to help the pain...

BTW we have at lease 20-30 deer a night out here...pic to follow.

Do you retrieve the fallen antlers?? I know that may sounds stupid to the Northerners but, the deer in Florida a very small and almost gone due to our large snake population. So I don't know anything about deer.

Ha! We got Florida snakes eating alligators, dogs, small unattended children and just about anything else they can find.

We had one on the news a few months back choked to death trying to swallow a 6 foot alligator.

I sell signage and signage accessories.
Used to live in the Dub-V... we had some big ones there. I didn't have anything against them until I moved up there. Picked up hunting to help with the overpopulation problem.

Shooting deer with an Bushmaster AR-15 20" heavy barrel is a lot of fun. 62 grain bullet @ 2600 fps will drop just about anything.

Side note - WV has the highest rate of deer vs. car accidents... 1 out of 42 people will hit a deer every year.

Gino we have burmese pythons. They have been recorded eating alligators, pig, goats even people. We have trappers catching them in the 12 foot range regularly in the Everglades. I know those of you up north that don't have giant snakes wouldn't understand. We have no predators that will eat them once they reach adult size. So they can just feed at will.

Turn on Animal Planet sometime they always have shows about our giant snakes.

Coming home Saturday early evening, like dusk.... Howard, my neighbor, was driving and we passed a neighbor's open field and it had about 40 or so deer standing about. I was counting as fast as I could and got to 35 and there were still more to go. This is two properties down from our house.... about 1/4 mile down the road. That's the most I've seen in my area in over 25 years. I'm out looking for them as much as I can to get a picture.

Oh, and deer don't like beer. It only rhymes with their name. They like Manhattans 'up' and Apple Cider.

Mosh the Antlers are Great dog chew toys if they aren't trophy size. My wife paid some terrible amount for one and brought it home for the dog and he LOVES it.

I am sure someone I know had some I could have got much much cheaper!

I am sure they would love the beer - I do know for a fact they love tobacco

Don't be wasting those antlers on the dog...

they're a natural aphrodisiac

I went to Gatorland in Orlando years ago and the guy there was getting a Cottonmouth to break balloons on a stick. He told the crowd that it was the most venomous snake in the world which is utter B/S. I felt like telling him that the Eastern Taipan in Australia would have it for a quick snack, but the crowd enjoyed it too much.
