Discounts for Charities or Non-Profits??

I subscribe to the mindset with to giving whom, where and when I feel the need. Very few charities/non-profits get a discount, but if they ask, I’ll consider it. If I agree with it, then I will. It’s when someone else thinks HE can dictate to whom I give my charitable contribution to that I don’t agree with. Just this morning…. someone called me at home…. I don’t know how they got my number, but I listened. They wanted a dozen or so 18” x 24” 2-sided signs. I asked if they needed the stand and they said yes. They didn’t ask for any discounts or freebies. As I was figuring it out…. I asked him approximately what is going on the sign ?? He said…. A name, description, phone number and a picture of their beagle… who’s been missing since Monday. I swallowed hard and told him about $20. total. He just said…. WHAT ??

I just hope they find their dog, that’s all. I just want to help. The $20 is just so he feels he’s paid….. and not obligated to me. Told him they'll be done Monday by noontime.

we do LOTS of charity work, especially around golf season when suddenly EVERYONE is hosting a golf outing. The standard is two dozen or so 18x24 coroplast with d.s. graphics and a few 4'x4' and 2' x 8' banners... for which I always plan ahead, save scrap, and make it work without having to dip into my rolls of inventory. The great thing about charities... is that they LOVE anything you can do for them! and i LOVE making use out of scrap material... and then writing it off on taxes!
