Discussion Do I have to wait 24hrs so I can laminate?

I do a lot of rush jobs on boats. I've laminated almost immediately, high performance vinyl, HP laminate, but the jobs were small, not heavy ink. Have had zero problems.
But when I have larger letters, a van, or a printed sign, I always leave it overnight. If the letters are large, over 10", I try to leave it at least a few hours. But sometimes I have to do it right away, sometimes the tide does not wait (ha)
Most of the ones I've laminated immediately were pretty small. Maybe that's why it worked. I've been doing it for years now.

Good day everyone.
Tested and proven immediate prints and laminate for eco solvents is not possible.
Happen to me for testing.
After laminating I apply transfer film. Laminate lift up.
Curls on the edges and leading to whole prints lift off from the car.

Lots of factors go into it - ink density, material type... Ink type.

You're generally best to follow what the manufacturer of your printer tells you when you can.... If they were going to lie to you, they'd like and tell you it's instant. Their xx hour wait time might be a bit overkill, but we've had more failures due to laminating right away than we've had not... And we rarely ever laminate right away.

If I am in a hurry, I hang the prints with a fan running. Make sure you have an unprinted ,white bleed if you are going print and cut. If cut to colour, wait as long as you can.

Yes. Solvent inks need to out gas and cure for a day. Or you shouldn't warranty results like you sold your customer a good product.

No but you should let it cure for 24h after laminating.
