I went to clean the printer today and the sides of my print heads had zero ink on them. Any heads up on a potential problem I may be witnessing ? Thanks !

Photo a little out of focus but it appears that the heads are printing fine. (what I can tell)

No ink on the sides of the heads, I didn't know that signalled a problem.

I'll await some of the replies from techs.

With only half of the black head firing correctly, I would venture to say that the captop needs to be replaced. The head is probably not seating properly.

If that is a single black head with one side blocked a bit you could try this but be careful.

With a clean swab and cleaning solution push the swab up under the head on the side of the blockage. Do not rub the head only apply slight pressure up. This will force some cleaning solution up into the head in the area of the blockage. Most times when my unit has sat and has a blockage that has not cleared up by a couple cleanings, this works.

Never rub the heads as that will cause damage.

Clamp the hose under the cap with a paper clamp. Put some cleaning solution into the cap until it's full and let the head come to rest on top. Let it sit for a couple of hours and it should clean out anything that's dried and blocked.
