How would this work in my Graphtec,,,,i want to place a contour cut around my image then place a perf cut around the whole image ..............when this is sent to the cutter how will it know the 2 different pressures of the cuts? will it cut the first contours on all the stickers then go and do the perf cuts. or will it cut each one at the same time. i hope im explaining my self correctly LOL

Ok i did a test and it cuts both contours on each sticker ,one after the other, now i got to figure out how to get it to do a contour and then a die perf cut and have the 2 different pressures .

What equipment do you have that can do a perf cut without getting all messed up? Most plotters need the structural integrity of the release liner to feed the vinyl back and forth...

I suppose I am showing my ignorance of what is out there, but I would really like to know.

I think I get it, the perf cut is a perforation/pounce type cut? Rather than a cut that would cut out the decal and release liner completely, which is what I was thinking.

Perf cut

I just had the regional rep for graphtec leave my office. Their new 8000 series has a cool new features. First it has the standard cutting strip for protection of the blade if you cut through the liner. It now has a Cut channel for doing the perf cut. instead of beating the tip of your blade along a strip, the channel keeps the blade from making any contact with a hard surface. as the blade pokes the hole in the media, the blade holder hits the media to keep the blade from moving down to the bottom of the channel. They also have a software package so you can keep track of all your different settings for your different medias, like profiles for vinyl.

as far as i know PMG, you can only set those features through the graphtec cutting software, not flexi. I have also been thinking this same thing, and talked to a flexi rep, and they are working on that subject to actually make a new tool for the next upgrade of flexi. the technology is ther, yet flexi is behind like normal.

Hey thanks for the information....i have the Graphtec software but never used it as flexi was just good enough for the job......I may just start using it along with Adobe illustrator......That feature added into flexi would be great!!!!! :rock-n-roll:
