Currently cutting a one off time sensitive / RUSH / print and cut and can hear the cutter doing a double cut. How is it that it can do a double cut in some areas and not others off the same file.

There should be a warning letting you know there is double cut info in the file before it is sent. I honestly have no idea how it does this.

I've had the same problem and think I may have figured it out the other day.

When I use "Distort / Transform" to repeat the text and/or image, I have to then click "Object > Expand". Otherwise, the repeats show up but aren't actually there. For example, in wireframe mode, you won't see the repeated object. I noticed that I was getting the double cuts on these objects.

Sometimes I put a stroke around contour cut text and objects so that if the cut if off a little bit, it will be ok because of the extra stroke of color. What I concluded was that any stroke on the objects also expands which accounts for the 2nd cutline.

That's in Illustrator, not Flexi. Just noticed this was a Flexi question.

There are a couple of scripts and plugins listed here that would fix your problem if you had Illustrator. It sounds like you have duplicate paths that are artifacts left over from the Illustrator pathfinder tool.

Well I was wrong. I had quad cuts!!!! Unbelievable. Good thing I was watching and I had to sit there and hold the knife in the up position while it tried cutting it 3 extra times.

The original file was sent from Illustrator...all that stuff cut once. I then typeset extra copy from Signlab and put a white outline around it. For purposes of the client and approval I put a hairline around the white.
That has to be where the problem originates from.

How it got 3 extra cuts out of it is a complete mystery, once it was sent to Flexi and set up.
In Flexi once the file comes in I use the view colours option to change the colours and then I choose all the white and convert that to a contour cut.

It is rare that it happens but once it does it is next to impossible to fix unless you saved the file exactly as it was outputed for print initially.
