Double Sided Imposition Different Images

Customer sent in 23 files each different front and back going on rigid board on our flatbed. We do double sided work daily but rarely is it totally variable. What's the best way to impose? Using Onyx Thrive which doesn't seem to be too double sided friendly.

Square, ended up imposing it with imposition software but couldn't find any that does inside crops so had to make boxes around all the fronts for cutting. Has to be a better way

We set all files in Illustrator then send the print file out to printer. Takes a few minutes.

Some times, often... The skill and efficiency of pre-press, and setting up files for ideal production are necessary beyond what you're rip software will do. The magic is knowing which route to take.

Have you looked at prepress automation... There are tools that are plugins for illustrator that can do this with a click or you can go full automation and run OneVision, Enfocus Switch, Tilia Labs Phoenix/Griffon, or even Esko Automation Engine.
